Hurricane Ike from Sealy Street window
Late evening, Friday, September 12, 2008 - Sealy Street

The following photographs show the area surrounding the library during and immediately after Hurricane Ike.  Three of the library's employees, Executive Director John Augelli, Archivist Carol Wood, and IT Systems Coordinator Michele Quinn, sheltered in the library during the storm.  From this vantage, they were able to take photographs documenting the conditions and to mitigate the extent of the storm's damage to the library's assets.
